Cheltenham senior, son of former CHS math teacher/coach/alum, leads Panthers to victory at Tipoff Tournament

Cheltenham High School senior guard Osei Johnson (left above) scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the boys’ basketball team to a 75-46 victory over Frankford High in the Cheltenham Tipoff Tournament on Saturday, December 7.

Osei is averaging a team-high 18.5 points per game for the defending SOL Freedom Division champions. He was named an All-Suburban One Freedom Division team honorable mention for the 2023-24 season.

Osei is also the son of 1993 Cheltenham High graduate and former Cheltenham High math teacher and boys’ basketball coach, Brian Johnson (above right). Mr. Johnson is currently the principal at John Bartram High in Philadelphia.

Cheltenham (1-1) will travel to Upper Dublin for a non-league game on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00pm.
