Dr. Brian W. Scriven, superintendent of the Cheltenham School District, issued a notice to the school community regarding a building-wide power outage that began at approximately 2:00pm today.

According to the notice, students were dismissed at 2:30pm as usual. All afterschool activities have been canceled.

“We have been in contact with PECO, who is aware of the situation but has not yet informed us of the specific cause of the outage,” the notice says. “Updates regarding the restoration of power and the plan for returning to school Friday will be communicated via our standard notification channels, including email, text, website, and automated calls, once we know more information. Please monitor these channels for the most current information.”
