Cheltenham School District may go virtual

In an open letter addressed to Cheltenham School District families and staff, Superintendent Dr. Brian Scriven stated that a decision will be made by Friday, December 31st as to whether or not students will return to school in-person or virtually on January 3rd.

In the letter, Scriven cites the “almost 50-point increase in positivity per 1,000 between December 16 and 23, and the rapid spread and high transmissibility of the omicron variant of COVID-19” as reasons to consider all options in returning to class. He also stated that he will be meeting virtually with other superintendents and medical advisors before he makes his decision.
