The Cheltenham Fire Company announced that crews were dispatched to Tookany Creek Parkway & Cheltenham Avenue for a woods fire around 4:00pm on Tuesday, March 25.

According to their post, a large tree was on fire along the creek bank.

“An engine from Rockledge Fire Company was requested for additional water and manpower,” the post said. “Both companies worked together to extinguish the fire and operated for about an hour.”

In related news, Cheltenham Fire Company crews were also dispatched to assist Rockledge Fire Company with a confirmed dwelling fire around 2:00pm on Monday.

“Tower Ladder 4 was the 1st due Ladder Company, quickly went into service doing a primary search for victims, and started ventilation,” their post said. “All occupants were accounted for and the fire was quickly extinguished.”
