Cheltenham police break up domestic dispute, man stabs himself

Cheltenham police recently announced the result of a domestic dispute on Oak Lane and Brookfield Roads.

On the afternoon of October 27, officers encountered an argument between one man and one woman. The officers separated the parties, at which time the man produced a knife and threatened self-harm. As the officers attempted to verbally deescalate the situation, the man began to stab himself. The officers deployed taser guns and a ‘bean bag’ shotgun in order to prevent further harm.

Firearms were not discharged during the incident. The man was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
