The undefeated Cheltenham High School girls’ basketball team defeated defending District One 3A and Suburban One League Freedom Division co-champions New Hope-Solebury High, 57-41 on Tuesday, December 5.
According to local historian Chuck Langerman, the victory is the first time the Lady Panthers have beaten New Hope in the six-year tenure of head coach Bo Bowman, a 1997 graduate of Cheltenham High.
Sophomore Maya Simmons (pictured above) and junior Jiah Price combined for 38 points to lead the offense, while the Lady Panthers defense held New Hope to four points in the first half.
The girls’ team, now 3-0 on the season, will play at Lower Moreland High School on Friday, December 8 at 7:00pm. For their full schedule, you can click here.
