Cheltenham High wrestler joins 100-win club, will compete at regionals this weekend

Arthur “AJ” Gordon, a senior member of the Cheltenham High School wrestling team, became only the second Panther to win 100 matches since the inception of the program in 1933.

Gordon pinned William Tennant’s Daniel Ellis in 5:34 at the District One AAA Section North wrestling championships held at Quakertown High on Saturday. He took third, and CHS senior Nate Homa took sixth. Both advance to the regional tournament this weekend at Souderton.

The only other Panther wrestler to reach the 100-win plateau was August “Auggie” Gershwin in 2017. Gordon now sits two victories shy of tying his record of 105.

Gorden will be attending and wrestling for Johns Hopkins University in the fall.
