Cheltenham High School student-musicians to perform during ‘Beatles vs. Stones’ show at the Keswick in December

Cheltenham High School senior Griff O’Connor (viola), junior Judah Blitstein (violin) and sophomores Adora Abdul (violin) and Will Edgar (cello) will join professional musicians onstage for the “Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown” tour at the Keswick Theatre on December 1.

The string quartet will perform six songs with “Satisfaction” (the Rolling Stones tribute band) and “Abbey Road” (the Beatles tribute band). The production includes multimedia, period costumes and vintage instruments.

Members of the quartet belong to many prestigious local ensembles and consistently earned positive reviews at performances and festivals.

“Beatles vs. Stones” often reaches out to local high school orchestras and offers a donation to the school’s music program in exchange for student participation. According to the district, show producers sent an inquiry to the high school’s Orchestra Director, Matthew Hoy, for student-musicians who could hold their own with the pros in front of an audience.
