Cheltenham School District superintendent Dr. Brian W. Scriven announced today the resignation of high school principal Jimmy D’Andrea.
According to Dr. Scriven’s letter to the community, the search process for D’Andrea’s replacement will begin immediately.
Mr. D’Andrea was appointed in 2022. The letter does not state any reason(s) for the resignation.
From the letter:
Dear Cheltenham High School Community, It is with mixed emotions that I write to acknowledge the resignation of our esteemed Cheltenham High School Principal Jimmy D’Andrea.
While we are saddened to see him depart, we are also incredibly grateful for the profound impact he has had on our high school and the greater community.
Throughout his tenure, Principal D’Andrea has demonstrated exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and a deep commitment to the success and well-being of our students. Under his guidance, our high school has achieved academic growth and fostered a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Principal D’Andrea has been instrumental in initiating and implementing numerous programs that have enriched our students’ educational experiences. His vision and passion for education have inspired both staff and students alike, creating a culture of excellence that will be felt for years to come. His presence in our district will be sorely missed, and he will undoubtedly be extremely hard to replace.
As we bid farewell to Principal D’Andrea, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for his years of service and wish him nothing but continued success in his future endeavors. His legacy will remain a cornerstone of our community, and his contributions will not be forgotten.
The search process for a new high school principal will begin immediately. We are committed to finding a leader who will continue the remarkable work Principal D’Andrea has started and who will bring their own unique strengths to our high school. We will keep the community informed throughout this process.
