Cheltenham grad’s newest film, ‘Predator: Badlands’, coming to theaters on Nov. 7

“Predator: Badlands”, a science fiction action film directed by 1999 Cheltenham High School graduate Dan Trachtenberg, will be theatrically released in the United States by 20th Century Studios on Friday, November 7.

“Predator: Badlands” is the sixth live-action film, seventh overall film, and ninth installment in the Predator franchise and stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatamgi.

“Predator: Badlands,” which stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.

In his directorial debut, Trachtenberg directed the 2016 horror-thriller film “10 Cloverfield Lane,” starring John Goodman, which earned him a Directors Guild of America Award nomination for “Outstanding Directing – First-Time Feature. According to local historian Chuck Langerman, Trachtenberg has wanted to make movies since he was three years old. His mom helped him make a “Star Wars” video using action figures, toys, and kitchen utensils. More on his career here.
