Cheltenham grads Landau and Brady vying for Philly offices

Two Cheltenham High School graduates are on the ballot for Tuesday, November 7’s Election Day in Philadelphia.

Christy Brady, a 1990 graduate of Cheltenham High, is running for Philadelphia City Controller. According to local historian Chuck Langerman, she was known as Christy Meehan during her CHS days, where she played softball and basketball.

Rue Landau, a 1987 graduate of CHS, is running to serve on the Philadelphia City Council. Landau, a lifelong firefighter, has served as an activist, a housing organizer, and an attorney for community Legal Services. If elected, she would become the first openly LGBTQ+ member of council in Philadelphia history.
