Andrew Zitin, a resident of Wyncote, an Elkins Park native, and a 2005 graduate of Cheltenham High School, is a new partner with Montgomery County-based Rising Sun Power.

“I’ve been in the solar industry for close to 10 years, and a lot of my work has been done right here in Cheltenham Township,” Zitin said. “I’ve been working with the same amazing, hard-working and talented install crew for a long time. We get the job done right. I can truly say we have the best warranties in the industry.”

Zitin says utility customers are in for continuous price hikes as time goes on.

“Rates have gone up over the past three years. The grid infrastructure in our area is over 100 years old and requires billions of dollars of maintenance and replacement, so there are never-ending increases on the horizon,” he said. “Unfortunately, customers are the ones that pay for those upgrades.”

Zitin says installing solar is a great way to get around the problem.

“Not everyone is a good fit for solar and it is my job to help them figure that out,” he said. “There are several programs available that I can help you explore. Most of them require zero upfront dollars and can potentially save homeowners thousands of dollars per year.”

Zitin also emphasized that the federal tax credit for solar installations will end on December 31.

“It’s 30% of the whole project and the biggest incentive available for solar right now,” Zitin told Glenside Local. “If you’ve been thinking about this for a while, it’s time to take a serious look at what solar offers.”
