Michele-Olivia Francois, a Wyncote native, 2010 graduate of Cheltenham High School and owner/manager/CEO of Movement COrrective Fitness in Glenside, was featured in a business spotlight by Philly Tribune.
Francois, who received a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate from Drexel University with a focus on dance and physical therapy, opened her store in May within Jewels by Lady Cha Boutique. Her services include Pilates, strength training, and dance conditioning.
An excerpt from the interview:
And what kind of services do you provide?
We offer personal training, pilates, dance training as well as dance, and collective movement. I have a physical therapy background, so I work on correcting people’s bad habits. Physically, and then try to correct it so they stay away from pain and injuries.
How did you get into this business?
After a couple of knee surgeries. I’m also a dancer. I had 33 knee surgeries, so I went to physical therapy. It worked a little bit to get my movement back, but not to my dance level. And then pilates got me to dance again and get me to perform again.
