Dr. Jodi Hoffman, MD, a 1990 Cheltenham High School graduate and former Wyncote resident, is a cum laude graduate of Harvard University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NYC.
She was honored again this year as an “Exceptional Woman in Medicine”, an award she has won each year since 2019. She practices as a general medical geneticist at Boston Medical Center, providing genetic assessment, diagnosis, and counseling regarding prenatal care, neonates, children and adults with personal and family history of genetic conditions.
Dr. Hoffman also serves as the medical director of the Boston University Master’s Program in Genetics Counseling where she teaches graduate students.
In June 2020, she was named the Distinguished Faculty of the Month by Boston University’s Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
The nomination states: “Dr. Hoffman demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to her university community by educating providers, medical students, residents about the utility of genetics in the medical field. Beyond sharing textbook knowledge, Dr. Hoffman acts as a supervisor for genetic counseling students within a clinical domain.”
According to local historian Chuck Langerman, Jodi participated in Cheltenham High School’s Ensemble and Choir, school musicals, Student Council, the math team, and the Delaware Valley Science Fair where she medaled in microbiology.
