Dr. Kameron Leigh Matthews, MD/JD, a 1996 graduate of Cheltenham High School, was selected by Modern Healthcare Magazine as one of the 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives in the country in 2023.
Dr. Matthews currently serves as the Chief Health Officer of New York City-based Cityblock Health, an organization which offers medical, behavioral, and social services to individuals covered under Medicaid and dually eligible low-income Medicare beneficiaries.
Dr. Matthews oversees all clinical operations across the entirety of the integrated care model virtually, in-home, and in community-based clinics, with modern, custom-built technology at the core.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in public policy studies from Duke University, her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University, and her law degree from the University of Chicago. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she served as Chief Resident her final year.
According to local historian Chuck Langerman, Dr. Matthews has focused her career on underserved patient populations.
