Sharlandiin Strange, Cheltenham High School’s 6’4″, 230-pound junior defensive end, will announce his verbal commitment to a Power 5 school on the evening of Saturday, January 27 at the team’s end-of-season banquet at Our Lady Help of Christians in Abington.
“We were excited and eagerly waiting with enthused anticipation to see where Sharlandiin would be attending college. We as an entire football program are all happy for him and his family including Coach Star,” Cheltenham’s head football coach Troy Gore said.

“One of the better pass rushers in the Northeast,” according to Sports Illustrated, Strange will make his selection from contenders including Notre Dame, USC, Penn State, Nebraska, and Texas A&M, among others.
Strange averaged almost 10 tackles a game, including 17 tackles for loss and two sacks, as a sophomore. He also posted seven quarterback hurries, an interception, six pass breakups and a forced fumble.
He is currently considered a top 200 overall player by 247Sports (No. 164), On3 (No. 190) and Rivals (No. 193). In each ranking, he ranks within the top 10 players in Pennsylvania.
Strange posted the following image to his social media feed earlier this month:
