Sharlandiin Strange, Cheltenham High School’s 6-4, 230-pound rising junior defensive end, was given a nod in a recent article by Sports Illustrated. The article is titled “Notre Dame Among Schools Standing Out For Pennsylvania Pass Rusher Sharlandiin Strange.”
The article describes Strange as “one of the better pass rushers in the Northeast” and “One of the more talented defenders on the board” for Notre Dame’s coaching staff.
“Right now, I’d say Colorado, Rutgers, Notre Dame and South Carolina have been showing the most love so far,” Strange said. “My relationship with Notre Dame has been natural lately. I haven’t talked to any coaches lately because of rules but I’m still planning to take a trip up there soon.”
The article notes Strange’s top offers to date, including Notre Dame, USC, Penn State, Nebraska, and Texas A&M, among others.
“They are always showing me love on twitter and in person,” he said. “It’s always genuine love when they come around. I know they want me on campus as soon as possible so I’m going to make it happen.”
Strange is currently considered a top 200 overall player by 247Sports (No. 164), On3 (No. 190) and Rivals (No. 193).
