Cheltenham Fire Company Deputy Chief honored for 50 years of service, new police officers welcomed

Cheltenham Fire Company Deputy Chief Timothy Schuck was honored with a Resolution for his 50 years of volunteer service during the Board of Commissioners meeting on Wednesday, May 20.

Schuck also serves as an Assistant Fire Marshal for Cheltenham Township.

“We offer Tim our endless thanks and congratulations on this milestone,” the township said in the announcement.

In related news, the Board welcomed new Cheltenham Township police officers Abdullah Davranmakel and Caden Cooper, who were sworn in by Montgomery County Common Pleas Judge Steven C. Tolliver during the meeting.

Officer Davranmakel comes to Cheltenham with prior police service in the Town of Winchester, Connecticut. Officer Cooper is a graduate of the Philadelphia Police Academy and served with the Philadelphia Police Department before coming to Cheltenham.

Chief Slavin offered welcoming remarks for the new officers, and noted two additional hires who are currently enrolled in Academy training, with anticipated completion in fall 2026.
