Cheltenham Fire Company crews respond to multiple emergencies following storms on June 22

The Cheltenham Fire Company announced that crews were dispatched to multiple emergencies last night following severe storms in the area.

Officials said several roads were closed off due to rapid flash flooding and hazardous conditions.

“We urge all residents to respect all emergency cones and barricades—they are there for your protection,” the post said. “A massive thank you to our dedicated volunteer firefighters and mutual aid crews who worked tirelessly through the night to keep Cheltenham Township safe.”

The post concluded with the following advice:

Many of yesterday’s incidents could have been avoided.

Please remember: Visibility is low during evening storms, making it hard to see how deep water actually is. Just 6 inches of water can cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Never drive around barricades or through moving water.
