Cheltenham boys’ soccer advances to second round of Districts, will play CB South on Oct 24

The 20th-seeded Cheltenham High School boys’ soccer team took down Downingtown West High School 2-0 in the first round of the PIAA District I tournament on Tuesday, October 22.

The Panthers will take on the No. 4 seed Central Bucks South on Thursday, October 24 at 6:30pm.

Emile Chanoine and Jordan Rodriguez each scored goals for Cheltenham, who are now 11-7-1 on the year.

“This was a big won for us. It was a long road trip. We got there a little early, and the kids relaxed awhile. We got a good scouting report to play off for this time from a friend of mine down to which way the guy that took the penalty kick likes to shoot, which helped us,” head coach Bill Tonkin told Suburban One Sports. “We had a plan going in, and it worked. We’ll go home tonight and come up with another plan, and hopefully, it works just as well Thursday.”
