Cheltenham boys and girls track & field win Surburban One Freedom Championship

The Cheltenham High School boys and girls track and field teams won 12 of 18 events last week to take home the Suburban One Freedom Division Championship at Plymouth-Whitemarsh.

The Panthers earned the top four spots in the 100M (Ke Nai Massiah, Ke Shaun Massiah, Anthony Torres and Isaiah Keyes); top three spots in the 110M hurdles (Izzuna Amaefuna, Joshua Herard and Jordan Grady) and 200M (Ke Nai Massiah, Nathan Hoffman and Ke Shaun Massiah); the top spot in the 3200M (personal best by William Edgar); and Herard won the 300M hurdles. The team also swept the 400m (Anthony Torres, Nathan Hoffman, Ke Shaun Massiah, and Ke Nai Massiah) and 1600M (Ke Nai Massiah, Nathan Hoffman, Traeon Bradsher, and Jordan Sowell) relays and finished second in the 3200M relays. In the field events, Eli Liedtka won the javelin and discus, Torres took home the long jump title, Forey Chery won the shot put and Keyes came out on top in the triple jump. 

Mariah Winfield led the way for the girls’ team, taking first in the 100M (12.32) and 300M hurdles (47.94). Kira Murray won the 200M (25.18) and finished second in the 100M (12.38) and Michelle Korsah brought home the 100M hurdles (15.43), in addition to finishing second in the 200M and 300M hurdles. The 400m relay of Kendall Nelson, Kira Murray, Mariah Winfield and Michelle Korsah came away victorious in 48.96.
