The Cheltenham High School baseball team completed its first winning season in 12 years.
The Panthers finished with an 11-8 record led by first-year head coach Lukas Nakkula, a 2019 Cheltenham High graduate. Nakkula played collegiately for Lackawanna College and the University of Massachusetts.
According to local historian Chuck Langerman, Nakkula is the first Cheltenham High alum to lead the Panther baseball team in 52 years. 1966 graduate and former driver’s education teacher Ron Stewart (below) managed the 1973 team.
