Center School in Abington receives $17K Safe Schools Grant, open house next month

Abington’s Center School, a private institution serving differently-abled students in grades 1-8, was recently awarded a Safe Schools Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Office for Safe Schools. 

The $17,666.25 allotment comes as part of the $8 million in Safe Schools Targeted grants awarded to 166 schools in Pennsylvania. The grants can be used to create safer school communities in a variety of ways, including purchasing safety equipment, implementing new programs, and hiring security personnel and school resource officers. In related news, Center School will be hosting a Spring Open House on Friday, April 21 from 9:30am to 1:00pm. The Open House is for prospective families, professionals, and other community members who want to learn more about the school’s approach to learning.
