Bradley Cooper to premiere new documentary based on his father’s struggle with lung cancer

Bradley Cooper, a Jenkintown/Abington Township native, will premiere a new PBS documentary titled “Caregiving” on Tuesday, June 24.

Cooper said his father, Charles Cooper, who died from lung cancer in 2011, inspired the film. He described the experience as “just simply overwhelming, incredibly stressful, complex and all-consuming,” according to ABC News.

“Like most people, I didn’t even think about caregiving until my father was diagnosed with cancer,” Cooper says in the film. “[Caregivers’] ability to focus and give all of themselves is something that I stand in awe of.”
