Bill Cosby of Elkins Park had a ‘neighborly relationship’ with Jeffrey Epstein according to newly released documents

Bill Cosby, the 88-year-old disgraced actor/comedian and resident of Elkins Park (Cheltenham Township), had a “neighborly relationship” with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported today.

According to their coverage, Epstein began closely following Cosby’s sexual assault case in the mid-2010s. The millions of documents released Friday by the U.S. Department of Justice—commonly referred to as the “Epstein files”—include emails between Epstein and Cosby, both of whom owned townhouses on East 71st Street in Manhattan.

“Epstein often saw parallels to his own ongoing legal issues — and also viewed the Cosby case as a valuable distraction from his own misconduct in the news,” The Inquirer wrote.

“im getting bad press again,” Epstein wrote to a friend in January 2015 after a new legal development surfaced against him in Florida. “as i predicted. now that cosby was off the sex headline they need to resuurect a new one.”

“Does the new Cosby information cause any issues for you?” someone, whose name is redacted in the files, wrote to Epstein in July 2015 shortly after Montgomery County prosecutors reopened a criminal investigation against Cosby, The Inquirer said.

The same year, Epstein emailed a film producer an idea for a movie that was “a fictionalized account of what happens to people falsely accused.”

“Few willing to stand up and say that these girls are liars,” Epstein wrote.

In a separate email regarding allegations against Cosby, Epstein wrote “Whether guilty or not, [he’s] being burned at the stake.”

“[He] is being persecuted. Ok, even if he’s guilty no one died,” Woody Allen reportedly wrote to Epstein in 2016, referencing Cosby. “He’s been publicly humiliated, stripped of honors at schools, forced to cancel comedy tour, dropped from tv series that was in the works, old show taken off the air. Do they want his head on a pike?”

Around 2017, Epstein also reportedly had his real estate broker pursue Cosby’s house across the street from Epstein’s own seven-story home. In late 2024, Cosby defaulted on his mortgage for the 5,000-square-foot Manhattan townhouse. He listed the address for sale in 2025 for $29 million.

Last week, Judge Joe Brown, an American former lawyer and television personality, said Cosby tried to buy NBC on two separate occasions. He explains in the video below why he believes those efforts may have played a role in the controversies and accusations that later followed Cosby:

In related news, Cosby recently admitted that he repeatedly obtained quaaludes to give them to women in hopes of having sex with them, according to Rollingout.com. In a sealed deposition tied to a civil lawsuit, Cosby said that he refilled the prescription seven times and never took the drug himself.
