Beth Sholom Synagogue in Elkins Park was recently featured in an article by Uncovering PA titled “Touring Frank Lloyd Wright’s Beth Sholom Synagogue in Elkins Park, PA.”
The author describes his tour of the property, including the synagogue’s sanctuary, chapel, museum, and various symbolic features.

The article notes that Beth Sholom is the only synagogue designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and goes on to detail its history. An excerpt:
Rabbi Mortimer J. Cohen, who led the congregation, had a dream of creating a grand American synagogue and felt that only Frank Lloyd Wright could help him achieve his vision. And, despite Wright having turned down many similar projects in the past, he was impressed by Cohen’s words and vision and decided to design this impressive structure.
Beth Sholom was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2007 for its architecture. The building was completed and consecrated in 1959.
