Banana Nana Pudding Specialty Shoppe is coming to Jenkintown sometime this summer.

The specialty dessert shop will be at 310 York Road, the former location of Scaleback Restaurant.

Owner Denée Bynum (pictured above) launched her brand in 2018 and has been hosting Banana Nana pop-up events in Philadelphia since 2023. She says the concept began as something she used to do at her church for fun.

“I come from a culinary family and a few years ago, banana pudding became real popular. I started seeing it everywhere,” Bynum, and Oreland native, said. “I’ve always loved to cook. It’s my passion. I just needed a house to do it.”

She says Jenkintown was a top choice to open her first brick-and-mortar store.

“It’s a dream location. I love the Jenkintown community, and I can’t wait to showcase what I do,” she said. “We’re getting things together. It’s my first storefront, and it’s been a learning process.”

The shop will have 10 flavors and a variety of toppings, including cookies, poundcake, fruit, and glazes. Seasonal baked goods, such as pumpkin and sweet potato pies, will eventually be on the menu as well.

“I have so many ideas of what I want to do once I get in the storefront,” she said.
