6 pounds and 19 inches long, Azyel Velazquez became the first baby born in in Eastern Montgomery County in 2022, debuting at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Abington Township at 12:32 am on January 1st.

Soon after, Parker Reece Wesemann, was born at 12:57 a.m., Jefferson Health Abington Hospital’s first newborn of 2022. His stats: 7 pounds, 2 ounces and 20 inches long.

Honorable Mention: Ellora Regan Colavita (pictured above) was the first baby born in the new year at 7:18 am at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown, Bucks County. Although not born in Montgomery County, Ellora’s mom is from Glenside. The tale of Ellora’s tape? 7 pounds, 15 ounces and 22 inches long.
