Astra Lumina debuts Nov 21 in the Abington Art Center

Astra Lumina, described as an immersive outdoor experience, will debut at The Abington Art Center (515 Meetinghouse Road in Jenkintown), on Thursday, November 21.

The temporary installation is part of the Lumina Enchanted Night Walk series. Moment Factory, an international multimedia production studio, has teamed up with Fever, a live entertainment outfit, to create a U.S. tour.

From their website:

The stars are descending from the night sky. Set off across mysterious grounds to discover a celestial pathway of lustrous light, cosmic visions, and astral song. Immerse yourself in illuminating encounters of lighting, projection and sound, and connect with the stars before they return to the sky above.

Astra Lumina welcomes you to an extraordinary place, a garden right here on earth that shares a special connection with the sky above. Come nightfall, the garden sets the stage for a phenomenal event: a visit from the stars.

This stellar journey invites stargazers to set off across the garden’s celestial pathway to encounter the wonder of the stars and embrace their own human light. As the night unfolds, these luminous orbs regenerate, rise, and reunite in the night sky, to shine brighter than ever before.

“Since 2014, we’ve brought more than 20 Lumina Enchanted Night Walks to life in diverse outdoor settings. With Astra Lumina arriving in Philadelphia, it marks the fifth U.S. city to host this unique attraction, showcasing its universal appeal to audiences of all kinds,” said Jonathan St-Onge, Executive Director at Moment Factory Originals. “This journey is about fostering connections—between people, nature, and the stars—so we’re excited to bring this enchanted experience to the Abington Art Center for a captivating new chapter.”
