The Arcadia University women’s basketball team continued its record-setting start to the 2023-24 season with a 76-59 win over Penn State Abington on Saturday, December 9.
The victory moved the Knights to a sparkling 8-0, while Penn State Abington fell to 5-6.
The Knights began the second half on a 19-7 run and led the Nittany Lions 57-38 going into the fourth quarter. They maintained the lead with a 17-7 start to the fourth quarter.
Arcadia outrebounded the Nittany Lions 53-32, with grad student Katie Rodriguez’s 20 rebounds tying for the fourth-most in a game in program history. Rodriguez notched her first double-double in Glenside.
The Knights shot 77 percent (11-14) from the free throw line, their second-highest total of the season.
Last week, sophomore Hanna Rhoades (below) came off the bench to hit 9-of-11 three-pointers and set a new single-game record. She was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week and the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Player of the Week.
