AICUP releases second annual Veterans Day Survey, Arcadia and Manor College home to 100+ GI Bill students

According to the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP), Arcadia University in Glenside/Wyncote is home to 89 GI Bill students, and nearby Manor College in Jenkintown is home to 12 GI Bill students.

The second annual AICUP Veterans Day Survey provided a snapshot of how Pennsylvania educates its active and veteran servicemembers:

  • 5,917 students used the G.I. Bill to pursue a degree at an AICUP member college in Pennsylvania in 2025.
  • There was a 7% increase in the number of G.I. Bill students enrolled at an AICUP member college in 2025 compared to those schools providing data in 2024.
  • Pennsylvania is the 18th largest educator of G.I. Bill students, according to the V.A. (with 19,812 total).
  • 30% of Pennsylvania’s G.I. Bill students attend an AICUP member college or university.
  • 99% of AICUP member colleges offer V.A./G.I. veterans’ educational benefits.
  • 91% of AICUP member colleges offer the Yellow Ribbon program to veterans with additional funding from the school itself.
  • 1 new Yellow Ribbon program was added in 2025 (Harcum College, near Philadelphia).
  • 70% of AICUP member colleges support R.O.T.C. officer training, either as a host or cross-town partner.
  • 13 AICUP member colleges even host a Veterans Lounge or dedicated space for student veterans to study and socialize on campus.

“One of the best ways we can support our veterans is to guide them to their next career through a top-notch education,” said AICUP President Tom Foley. “Independent nonprofit colleges offer little-known and surprising benefits for veterans, like the Yellow Ribbon, which can mean more funding for a veteran’s education.”

The 2025 survey includes data from the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Survey details and sources are available at this link.

The 2024 AICUP Veterans Day Survey, linked here, includes a 32-page report with examples of how AICUP members contribute to national defense through innovation and collaboration, and military-adjacent majors.

More than 80 member schools comprise the AICUP.
