Abington boys’ basketball coach takes home 500th career win

Dan Marsh, head coach of Abington Senior High School’s boys’ basketball team, was featured today by SuburbanOneSports.com for winning his 500th game on January 13 against Pennsbury High School.

Coach Marsh, who previously coached Abington’s girls basketball team for 18 seasons, led the Lady Ghosts to five trips to the PIAA Elite 8, including two district titles and three district finals. They won four SOL titles during his tenure.

His won his first 100 games at Akiba Hebrew Academy in Bryn Mawr where he got his start in coaching 27 years ago.

“Abington is my family, this place is my life,” Marsh told SuburbanOneSports.com. “It changed my life. It’s been good to me, and hopefully, they feel the same way.”

The multi-faceted Marsh, who is also Abington Junior High School’s physical education and health teacher, coached Abington’s girls’ volleyball team to an SOL championship in 2017.

Marsh earned his 450th career win on January 27, 2023.
