Abington Township to hold public hearing for former St. Basil’s Academy property, 150 age-restricted single-family carriage homes proposed

The Abington Township Board of Commissioners will hold a conditional use hearing for the former St. Basil’s Academy property on Thursday, July 13 at 7:30pm at the Abington Township Building.

The applicant, Toll Mid-Atlantic LP Company, Inc. of Fort Washington, is seeking permission to install a central sewer line for 150 proposed age-restricted single-family carriage homes at 711 Fox Chase Road in Abington.

From the Township’s notice:

This is an application requesting Conditional Use approval pursuant to Section 1503.B.2.b of the Abington Township Zoning Ordinance to permit installation of a central sewer line in Zone Two of the Riparian Corridor Conservation District in conjunction with the proposal to redevelop the Property pursuant to the AR Age-Restricted Carriage Home Overlay District with 150 Age-Restricted Single-Family Attached Carriage Home Dwelling Units, accessory uses, and associated improvements.

Toll Brothers has been in communication with the Township about the property since 2021, and submitted a land development application in May. For our previous coverage, you can click here.

Note: A previous version of this article said (incorrectly) that the proposal called for 150 age-restricted apartment units.
