“Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape” is the theme of Fire Prevention Week’s 100th anniversary. The Abington Township Fire Department’s five consecutive open houses will include hands-on demonstrations, truck and station tours, giveaways, snacks, and safety tips doled out by local firefighters from five Township companies.

The open houses will rotate venues between October 10 and 14. The lineup is Abington on Monday, McKinley on Tuesday, Roslyn on Wednesday, Weldon on Thursday, and Edge Hill on Friday. Each event will run from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

The open houses will also serve as an opportunity for interested adults and teens to learn about volunteer opportunities in emergency and non-emergency roles. To learn more about the companies, the events, and volunteerships, you can check out Abington’s Fire Department site here.
