Abington Township has been awarded $99,828 through the 2026 Emergency Training Center Grant Program to support improvements to local fire training grounds.
Edge Hill Fire Company posted the following in response:
Edge Hill Fire Company would like to extend our sincere thanks to Governor Josh Shapiro and the Shapiro Administration for their continued investment in Pennsylvania’s fire and emergency services.
These training grounds are an invaluable resource for our firefighters, providing a place to develop and maintain the hands-on skills necessary to safely and effectively serve our community. Investments in training facilities are investments directly into the safety of both our firefighters and the residents we protect.
As a 100% volunteer organization, we’re grateful for funding that helps provide our members and our fellow Abington Township firefighters with quality facilities to train, learn, and prepare for the challenges we face on the fireground.
Thank you to Governor Shapiro, the Shapiro Administration, and everyone involved in securing this funding for Abington Township.
A total of $900,000 in grants will be distributed to municipal fire departments and emergency services training centers to help municipal fire departments and training centers modernize facilities, renovate structures, purchase equipment, and more.
