David M. Mwaria, a junior at Abington Senior High School, is one of 16,000 semifinalists around the country to be a considered for a Merit Scholarship award.

Students were able to enter the program by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Approximately half of the semifinalist will go on to win one of 7,140 available National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million. Winners will be announced between April and July.
