Abington senior, design/illustration student at Eastern in Willow Grove wins Gold Out t-shirt design contest

Lily Devlin, an Abington senior and a student of Design, Photography, and Illustration at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology, was named the winner of the Abington Gold Out football game t-shirt design contest.

Devlin is a member of AbingTHON, an Abington Senior High School club that raises money for various charitable causes throughout the year. AbinTHON organized the Gold Out, with all proceeds benefitting pediatric cancer research.

The front of the shirt was her depiction of a football with the words, “Abington vs. Neshaminy Gold Out 2023.” The back design was a gold ribbon intertwined with the words, “Abington Goes Gold.” These shirts were sold online and at Abington Senior High School leading up to the big game.

“It was such an honor to have my design selected for this t-shirt,” she said. “Looking around the stadium, these shirts were worn by cheerleaders, some of the football team, students, and parents. As an aspiring graphic designer, it felt great to see my designs being used for such an amazing cause. Walking through the hallways at school and seeing the design that I created on my iPad on so many shirts was an amazing feeling.”

After graduation from EASTERN and Abington Senior High School, Lily plans to attend postsecondary to continue her graphic design education.
