Abington senior Cody Krol has been named the January 2023 Student of the Month at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology in Willow Grove for his work in the Automotive Technology program. Ten students each year are selected for the honor.

Cody’s growing resume includes serving as the SkillsUSA School-Wide Vice President and the student representative for Automotive Technology’s Occupational Advisory Committee, attending the Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) Leadership Conference in the Poconos in November, and volunteering as a student speaker at the school’s Designer Bag Bingo fundraiser in October.

Cody won first place in the SkillsUSA Local Action Skills Competition and was one of five students chosen by his instructor to take the written test for the Auto Dealers of Greater Philadelphia Tech Competition.

“Cody is an outstanding student with strong leadership skills, a great work ethic, and a positive attitude,” George Stahl, Eastern’s Automotive Technology instructor, said. “I trust his skills and appreciate his willingness to assist the first-year students. I am proud of all of his accomplishments and am excited for the bright future that is ahead of him.”

Cody works at Earth Borne Trucks and Equipment as a heavy equipment mechanic apprentice in the mornings before going to Eastern in the afternoons.

After graduation from Abington Senior High School and Eastern, Cody plans to continue working with EarthBorne and is considering attending the Automotive Training Center in Warminster.

Cody’s father graduated from Eastern’s Electrical Technology program, and his grandfather graduated from the Horticulture program.
