Abington schools to launch ‘Portrait of a Graduate’, seeking community input

The Abington School District is in the process of launching “Portrait of a Graduate”, which involves skills and competencies that define what it means to be an Abington School District graduate.

According to their announcement, the project will be developed from community input and will guide programs and initiatives in the district to help prepare students for the future.

From their announcement:

A Portrait of a Graduate describes the competencies and personal qualities students should possess when they graduate in order to be successful in a complex world. These skills and attributes often compliment or augment those found in traditional academic subject areas. These skills and attributes help to enhance the educational program and experiences students have throughout their school career from elementary through high school.

Community input is essential in helping us develop this Portrait of an Abington School District Graduate. We are asking that you please assist us in creating this portrait by completing a brief survey. We will use this input to guide our committee efforts moving forward.

You can access the survey here. It will be open through Wednesday, December 4.
