Abington School District has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Art Education Association for the second consecutive year.

The recognition is based on the district’s art programs which have been deemed rigorous, inclusive, accessible, and visible. Student artwork will be presented during the Tuesday, October 24 Board of School Directors meeting at 7:00pm. Examples include:

In related news, Highland Elementary School was visited by Laura Numeroff, author of the childhood classic, “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” on Monday, October 23.

During her visit, Ms. Numeroff performed a reading of her book and spoke about her other written and illustrated works, her childhood, and her lifelong love of animals.
