Abington School District recently announced that Ms. Susan McCarthy, a retired administrator, has been appointed Interim Principal of the high school.

The appointment is effective October 27 and will continue until a successful candidate—identified through a process with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit—is available to begin the position. Angelo G. Berrios III, longtime principal, assistant principal, and social studies teacher at Abington Senior High School, announced his departure in early September to become Superintendent of Schools of the Pennridge School District.

McCarthy retired from Council Rock High School in 2021. She started her career at the school in 1973 as an English teacher, continuing on to serve as a guidance counselor, assistant principal and then principal.
