The Abington School District Board of Directors recently approved permits for use of District buildings and grounds for two upcoming events.

The Abington Educational Foundation’s 2023 Fall Carnival will be held on the grounds of Abington Senior High School from Thursday, September 28 through Sunday, October 1.

The annual Bands in the Boneyard Marching Band Competition on will take place on Saturday, October 28.

The Board additionally appointed Dr. Michael Hogan as the Assistant Principal of Copper Beech Elementary School.

Dr. Hogan previously served as the Assistant Principal in the Pennsbury School District. He is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in History, his master’s degree in Criminal Justice, his Secondary Social Studies teaching certification, Administrative certification, and his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.

In 2016, Dr. Hogan was awarded “Teacher of the Year” honors by Pennsbury School District.
