The Abington School District approved the Senior Citizen Real Estate Tax Rebate Program during its Board of Directors meeting on Monday, June 26.
The program allows for Abington Township or Borough of Rockledge homeowners over age 65, who have an annual gross household income of $35,000 or less, to receive a rebate of up to 40% ($260) if they have applied and qualified for the Pennsylvania Property Tax Rebate.
More information—including eligibility details and how to apply—is available here and will be sent to Township residents in the mailing that accompanies their tax bill. The program has been in discussion since 2022.
In related news, the Board approved the retirements of Mr. Darryl Braxton, a driver who has served the District for 36 years, and Ms. Elaine Hughes, an aide at Copper Beech Elementary School who has served the District for 1 year.
