Gadi Beer, 52, of Abington, was recently featured in The Philadelphia Jewish Exponent for traveling to his native Israel to help civilians survive during the war.
According to the article, Beer and his friend, David Goldstein, spend 9-10 hours each day distributing goods and supplies to kibbutz residents, displaced families and soldiers. The picture above shows Beer volunteering.
Before they departed in October, they linked up with Brothers in Arms, an organization which has been delegating tasks to volunteers in the region since the war began.
“I don’t think I could live with myself just staying back in the States,” Beer said. “I was just so distracted by everything that’s going on.”
