Abington police urge high school students not to participate in ‘Senior Assassin’ game

The Abington Township Police Department is cautioning area residents and students about the “Senior Assassin” game being played by high school seniors.

The game involves students stalking and shooting each other with water guns in an attempt to be the last senior standing.

“While it may seem like harmless fun to students, it can cause serious concern to the public—especially when it involves sneaking around neighborhoods or hiding in unexpected places. Every year, we receive 911 calls from concerned residents who believe they’re witnessing suspicious or criminal activity… only to find out it’s part of this game,” the department said in a post.

If students choose to play, the department asks the following:

  • Do not trespass—especially at night. If someone asks you to leave, do so immediately.
  • Use brightly colored water toys. Avoid anything that could be mistaken for a real weapon.
  • Do not wear masks or dark/camouflage clothing.
  • If you encounter police, do not run or hide. Cooperate and explain what’s going on.

The Lower Moreland Police Department issued a similar statement last week.
