Abington police investigation determines the victim murdered by husband, who then killed himself

Today, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Abington Township Police Chief Patrick Molloy announced that Nadege St. Preux, 43, was shot and killed by her husband, Terence W. Cheatham, 47, who then committed suicide at their residence at Meadowbrook Apartments in Abington Township.

From the announcement:

The bodies were discovered when Abington Police were called to the residence on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, by the apartment management team after they received complaints from neighbors about a foul odor and had made entry. When police entered the apartment, they found the two bodies and a firearm by Cheatham’s body.

Autopsies on the bodies were conducted today by Dr. Erica Williams of the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. Dr. Williams determined that Ms. St. Preux died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head, and the manner of death was homicide. Cheatham’s cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was suicide.
