Abington police arrest Willow Grove man for statutory sexual assault, investigation ongoing

The Abington Township Police Department announced today the arrest of Shaquan Bell, 31, of Willow Grove, for sexually assaulting a juvenile from Dauphin County.

According to the department’s press release, detectives from the Special Victims Unit began an investigation on January 8 after receiving information that a 13-year-old victim had been sexually assaulted within Abington Township.

The investigation determined that a suspect, later determined to be Bell, began communicating with the victim via Instagram in August 2025. After several months of communication, Bell met with the victim on January 6 in Dauphin County and they traveled to Bell’s residence in the 2400 block of Old Welsh Road where the sexual assault is alleged to have occurred. The victim returned home the following day and reported the incident to authorities, police said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Bell on Wednesday, January 28. On Friday, January 29 he was taken into custody and charged with multiple felony offenses to include Statutory Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault, and Unlawful contact with Minors.

Bell was arraigned with bail set at $1,000,000. As part of his bail conditions, he was ordered to have no contact with the victim, any minors, or access to the internet, police said.

The investigation for this incident is ongoing. If anyone has any additional information regarding this investigation, or believes that they may have been a victim of Shaquan Bell, they are asked to contact Detective Alison Gontowski (267-536-1100, agontowski@abingtonpa.gov) of the Abington Police Special Victims Unit.
