The Abington Township Police Department announced today the arrest of Barry Sussmann of Upper Dublin Township on charges including Felony Sexual Abuse of Children (Possessing child sexual abuse material) and Criminal Use of Communication Facility.
According to police, an Abington-based private business reported on March 20 that a male, later identified as Sussmann, had uploaded child sexual abuse material to their server.
The department’s Special Victims Unit interviewed Sussmann at his residence on the 1800 block of Carmel Place in Maple Glen on April 3, during which he admitted to transferring the child sexual abuse material to the business and possessing multiple other images of a similar nature.
Sussmann was taken into custody and multiple electronic storage devices were taken from his residence to be forensically examined, police said. He was arraigned with bail set at $100,000. As part of his bail conditions, he was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with minors and no internet usage. Sussmann satisfied bail and was released.
