Abington police announce details for Memorial Day, township now offering free mulch

The Abington Township Police Department has announced the details for their Memorial Day, during which the academy will honor the 75th anniversary of Officer Thomas Mathews’ passing and the dedication of a plaque for Constable Daniel O’Brien, each of whom were killed in the line of duty in Abington.

In related news, Abington Township is offering free mulch via resident pick-up at Baederwood Park and Crestmont Park.

The mulch is made of the leaves collected throughout the year and provided by the Abington Township Public Works Department, their announcement said.
