The Abington Police Department arrested Hezekiah Washington, 16, for his involvement in a carjacking on December 26.

According to Abington PD’s press release, an individual was sitting in a parking lot near 88 Station Avenue, Abington, at approximately 11:00pm when they were approached by five armed males wearing ski masks.

One of the males pulled the victim from their car which the suspects used to feel the scene. The vehicle crashed a short time later in Cheltenham Township and all suspects fled.

A follow-up investigation by Abington detectives resulted in the identification of the main suspect, Hezekiah Washington, from Boyertown, PA.

On January 3, Washington was arrested by Pottstown Police during an unrelated incident. Abington Police obtained an arrest warrant for Washington and charged him with robbery of a motor vehicle and related firearm offenses.

Due to the violent nature of this crime, Washington will be charged as an adult.
